This section contains information you may find useful for planning your trip.

Currency

The currency is the Turkish Lire and the exchange rate is currently (Nov 

2004) around 2,600,000 TL to the UK Pound. Most places accept UK 

currency and many people take little or no Lire with them as the rate you 

can get locally is generally better than in the UK.

Visa

You do not need to apply for a visa to visit Turkey if you are a UK national

but a 3 month visa is issued as you enter the country at a cost of £10. You 

MUST have a clean £10 note PER person when you arrive or you will be

refused entry. (Note: Giving a £20 note for 2 people will NOT work).

Medical

There are no compulsory vaccinations required for this part of Turkey

although some are listed as advisory which you should consider, especially 

if you suffer from any condition which may make you more vunerable. See
